What

The Mindfulness Based Living course aims to enable participants to establish an effective and regular daily mindfulness practice, to help to understand their pattern of thinking and help to settle their minds. There is a Qualifications Scotland Adult Achievement Award qualification that you can work towards, with your Caseworker, at the end of the course.

You will receive a manual at the start of the course where you can record your experiences throughout the course. In addition, you will receive by email weekly practice for you to listen to daily.

Mindfulness meditation practice is one way to truly experience the current moment and integrate that awareness into your everyday life. These sessions are friendly and informal, with all abilities welcome.

Who

Open to all current Access to Industry students. If you are interested, contact your Caseworker for more information.

When

The course usually runs one day a week over an eight week period. Future dates TBC.

Why

Mindfulness can be a really helpful tool to learn for managing feelings of stress or anxiety. If questions come up during the course about your mindfulness practice, your teacher will be available to talk to you about your experiences. However, this course is not a form of therapy. If more support is needed, we recommend participants seek the support of mental health professionals.

Where

Delivered in person, in our Community College (156 Cowgate, EH1 1RP).
