Services for Young People

Moving Forward

What

Moving Forward provides person-centred support for young people who are not in education or employment and require assistance to make those next steps. Through 1-1 caseworker support and occasional group work, the aim is to build confidence and resilience, and promote autonomy.

Support is on a range of areas, including motivational support, health and wellbeing, practical advice, skill-building, support into further education, career guidance, CV creation and tailoring, application support, interview preparation, and more. Caseworkers work collaboratively with the young person to identify their interests and goals, and together plan how to overcome any challenges on their way to reaching a positive destination.

Moving Forward also supports young people to engage in their community through hobbies or volunteering.

Through engaging with Moving Forward, young people may also be entitled to £30 a week EMA payment.

This service is run in conjunction with NOLB Stage 1 Moving Forward for Parents (see here). Referrals are via schools or SDS. If you wish, you can also contact Access to Industry for further information here.
